FAQ

Where do we start if we're not sure what we need?

Book a discovery call. We'll ask about where you are, what's changed, and what you're trying to achieve, and tell you honestly which service or combination makes sense for your situation. We don't push clients toward larger engagements than they need.

Can we engage multiple services at once?

Yes, and it often makes sense to. Brand strategy, visual identity, and website are designed to work together as one system. Running them sequentially or in parallel is faster and produces better results than commissioning them separately from different agencies. We'll recommend the right structure based on your timeline and budget.

Do you work with companies at any stage?

We work with companies from pre-seed through Series B and beyond, as well as established B2B companies going through significant evolution. Stage matters less than the clarity of the problem. A pre-seed founder preparing for a fundraise and a Series B company doing a rebrand are both situations we're built for.

What industries do you specialize in?

Deep tech, AI, energy, materials, biotech, robotics, and B2B SaaS. We've built expertise in these areas over years of working with companies where the technology is genuinely complex and the buyers are technically sophisticated. We understand the markets, the language, and what actually resonates with these audiences.

How is Bolder different from a generalist branding agency?

We specialize in B2B tech and deep tech. We don't work across every industry. That means we understand your market before we start, we know what technical buyers respond to, and we don't spend your budget getting up to speed. We also combine strategy, identity, website, and content under one roof, so nothing gets lost in translation between disciplines.

Do you work remotely?

Fully remotely for most engagements. We're based in Berlin and San Francisco and work with clients across the US and EU. Workshops and reviews happen over video and we've found the process works well. If you're in Berlin or San Francisco and want to meet in person, we're happy to arrange that.

How do you price your work?

Fixed price, scoped and agreed upfront before any work begins. No hourly billing, no open-ended retainers with unclear deliverables. You know exactly what you're getting and what it costs before we start. Pricing varies by service, see individual service pages for starting points, or book a call and we'll scope it precisely.

How long does a typical engagement take?

It depends on the service. Brand strategy runs 4–8 weeks. Visual identity 4–6 weeks. Website 4–8 weeks. The full startup branding package 6–12 weeks. Design and content subscriptions are ongoing monthly engagements. We always scope timelines precisely before we start, no vague estimates.

What does the process look like after we get in touch?

We start with a discovery call, usually 45–60 minutes. We listen, ask questions, and understand your situation. Then we come back with a clear proposal: scope, timeline, and investment. If it's right, we kick off with a structured onboarding. No lengthy sales process, no multiple rounds of pitching.

Do you work with companies that already have some brand assets?

Yes. Most clients do. We always start with an audit of what exists. Sometimes the right answer is to evolve what's there, not replace it. We'll tell you honestly what's working and what needs to change. We never redesign for the sake of it.

Can we see more work or case studies before deciding?

Yes. The portfolio shows a selection of recent projects. We have additional case studies, process documentation, and work samples across all our services that we share on request. Book a discovery call and we'll share the work most relevant to your industry and situation.
